Aromatherapy & Essential Oils has helped my family use less harmful man-made chemicals in our home.  Discover some of the natural ways I clean my home, freshen the air in my house, and much more. See the raindrops below for some examples of how I use essential oils to limit the use of man-made chemicals in my home. Remember, essential oils may be derived from plants but they need to be respected for their natural properties and potency and it is important  to always use 100% pure essential oils from a reputable company. If you choose to  use essential oils in ways that touch your skin directly, always test a small amount diluted in a carrier oil on a less sensitive area of your skin to watch for an allergic reaction. And, do your own research to make sure there are no contraindications for any medical conditions you or your family may have. Most experts recommend nearly always diluting essential oils with a carrier oil. Essential oils can be harmful if used incorrectly. DO NOT take essential oils orally unless under the care of a qualified, medical practitioner. Check out my Blog and/or subscribe to my Newsletter to learn more about Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.

I add peppermint oil to 8oz of water in a spray bottle and spray around my windows. Spiders and ants seem to dislike it!

I  diffuse a few drops of peppermint and orange oil. It makes my home smell wonderful.

                          MY INSPIRATION!

12 "And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing."  Ezekiel 47:12 (ESV; emphasis mine)

I add 2-3 drops of Lemon Oil to 1 Tbsp of Olive Oil on my wooden furniture. It shines and smells great!

I add 1 drop of lemon oil to 1 Tbsp of raw honey, rub it on my face and rinse, for a refreshing, lovely treat!

I add 1-2 drops              of Frankincense oil to my favorite shampoo for a wonderful burst of exotic          fragance!

I simmer cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and/or orange peels on the stove or in a potpourri warmer.

I add a few drops of lavender or chamomile  oil to a diffuser for times of  quiet reflection,

 I add 5-9

drops of essential oil to a cotton ball and put it in my

vacuum bag for a nice smelling house!
